OMG! Received this backgammon set today and I have to say this is gorgeous. I love the that there’s no bracket/attachments for opening and locking it. It is so well made I can’t wait to give this as a Christmas gift to a family member.I rarely rate items, but this one is way better than expected. I wanted one somewhere in -between. I'm very pleased with this set. I'm pleasantly surprised at the quality and the aesthetics. Though, as one reviewer complained, it is not real wood (it's engineered), it is still a well-constructed board. All of the pieces, which I believe are real wood, are of very good quality as well. There is a bag that holds all of the pieces and the board folds up like a briefcase holding everything neat and tidy. It also has a very nice bag to keep it clean while storing. This is not cheaply made and therefore, I believe the price is fair. I can highly recommend it to you!Gift for my hubby. He loved it. Great craftsmanship and comfortable size (19 inch) Just wish it had a handle to make easier to carry but that’s me being picky ?. Really well constructed. All corners line up nicely. I love the big steel hinges. The game set looks like it will last a lifetime. The 15 in. size is perfect for my needs. There is plenty of room on the board for game play. It fits perfectly on the coffee table or the couch.The playing surface is very good looking and practical. The outline around the points make them stand out during game play. The checkers are the right size for the game set. With six checkers laid out across the home board, there is about 1/16 to 1/8 in. gap between checkers. Enough room to move your checker without knocking others off their spot. The checkers are wooden and I find the wood grain gives just enough texture to make them easy to grip and pick up. The dice are decent. They are the right size for this game set. The only thing "off" about this set are the dice cups. They are small but still usable. Not gonna knock a star off about the dice cups.For a low/mid price point game set, I doubt you will find better. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice game set without breaking the bank.this board is beautiful and shows quality craftsmanship.Great finish.
