The first set I received, the 0-1" was defective, wouldn't turn on. I have a fear that this maybe a sign of things to come. Shars is from China as well, but I think q.c. Is probably better. You know when you have a car that you just feel it might not start and you wouldn't be caught off guard? It's like that. Seems to be pretty accurate, I really like the ease of seeing and the absolute feature. I'll edit this in a couple months after I have a couple more projects done. This tool is very accurate for my needs. Automotive. You have to reset it before using and the only complaint I have with it is the 2” gauge that comes with it. If you hold it just right it may be 2”. I would use a gauge block set to set it exactly to 2”. It seem to hold the setting even when turned on and off, but I set it each day depending on the conditions in the shop. I would buy this brand again.Would of gotten five stars had they come with instructions.I have 3 measurement products from iGaging and love them all. I've had them for only 2 months, use them several times a week, and they've been completely reliable so far. When comparing them to each other and to other very accurate products, they've been right on. They ship with a certificate asserting NIST traceability - I don't know how to confirm that, but because of their repeatability and correlation with other accurate products, I'm inclined to believe the traceability is genuine.I bought this to compliment my other digital micrometers. I work mostly in metric and have an imperial set of Mitutoyo micrometers that I have been using and converting to mm. This micrometer seems very accurate and tested very well against my gage-blocks. When I was measuring parts and the larger end of the scale but well within its capacity, the readings would climb every time I touched the thimble. I went back to the Mitutoyo micrometer and found my part was in spec. Damn near scrapped a part that had a lot of work in it. Not worth taking a chance on so I returned it.For the money a very accurate micrometer. Solidly built and measuring AA gauge blocks shows accuracy of +/-0.0003"Works great. Very accurate and easy to use. Just DON'T drop them!!great products micrometers were light accuracy perfet wish I found these earlier
