I do not write many reviews. However, this rod was so great that I have to share my opinions!To start off, I got the 8wt 9 footer. Primarily for a redfish trip coming up, but I have been using it to fish for bass (I know overkill) to get used to the rod. Anyways this rod is nothing short of perfection! It casts like a dream with no work at all! An easy double haul easily shoots 60+ feet of line with minimal effort. The rod is also great at short distance to and easily loads with very little line out (not typical of fast action rod). Performance wise the rod is great, loads of backbone for those big fights without feeling like a log. I could not be happier with the performance.Secondly, maybe less important but still worth noting is the looks. THIS ROD IS BEAUTIFUL! A rich metallic blue blank with black wraps with electric blue highlights is simply stunning. The finish on this rod is great!If you have a single second thought on this rod ignore it. This rod is fabulous and offered at a price that cannot be beat. I have cast plenty of rods 3-4 times as expensive and this rod is comparable. BUY. BUY. BUY.Got this rod because of the reviews and the high praise I’ve heard from friends and family for the Redington brand. Got this rod for an alskan salmon trip with my brothers and dad. Weight, length and feel of the rod was perfect to be honest. A little more flex then I anticipated but amazing at first. I was flossing away on the Kenai River and as I snag my first salmon of the trip, the salmon took off and snapped the rod in two different spots, which makes me think there were possible numerous defects on the rod from the beginning. I had to result in buying a new rod in Alaska where they aren’t cheap and our first day was basically done.Hi how are you i have question my rod broke at the top during fly fishing what can i do now can i replace this rod please help i see that i have life warranty on rodThis is about a $100 kit for $80. The flies were pretty good as well. The hole in the foam spool was too small to fit on the rod so you had to make it a bit bigger. I use this rod at the numerous brackish ditches near me with all-white tenkara flies i tied myself and had success with them as i caught many juvinile gamefish species and some small exotics aswell. a great rodThis is a great rod!! Sturdy and stiff, great for double haul and short cast. I bought this rod for hybrid striper bass and red fish, I have a trip coming up but haven't had the chance to use it for reds yet, "but I can't wait"! but i primarily use it for striped bass and I can honesty tell you that hybrid stripers fight hard and the redington predator has impressed and even surpassed my expectations. I've caught several stripers over 14 to 15 pounds and it holds up great.Gave it to my boyfriend who dumped me the same day.Broke the 10 wt rod in down in baja with a few dorado and rooster fish. Great feel and action. Great buy, quality rod. Used both a 10 wt and 12 wt.I started to replace my broken TFO rods with these and I haves looked back. This is a super fast action rod that is build like a high end sage. Lots of attention to detail.Was lighter than expected for a 10Wt rod.
